Salman Khan or Shahid Kapoor on top in Bollywood
Popular actor Salman Khan continued with his winning streak at the box-office, making it a hat-trick of hits in successive years with 'Ready', which has registered astounding business of Rs 120 crore so far in the first half of 2011, after 'Wanted' in 2009 and 'Dabanng' in 2010. Trade sources said the actor today commands the biggest star remuneration and is the most-sought after hero, being signed by all top producers, including Yash Chopra, at his terms.
''Salman is ruling the box-office presently and there is no bigger draw than him for distributors, who are lapping all his under-production movies at astronomical prices'', said a trade Analyst. Big-time success, which had eluded him for some years due to wrong selection of projects, including 'Veer', has made the actor wiser, getting scripts cleared by his writer father Salim Khan, whom he adores till this day for moulding him to become the biggest hero of Bollywood.
Sources close to the actor, speak of a new-found zeal in him to do better in his forthcoming movies after looking into all the nuances of film-making. Salman suddenly has a good rapport with the media, not avoiding them as he did in his hey days and is a better human being with a number of projects up his sleaves for welfare of fellow humans and the rapport is still getting better, day by day, the sources added.
Standing in the 5th position is our very own chocolate boy Shasha (Shahid Kapoor), with not much number of movie hits this year. This years release of Shahid Kapoor include Chance Pe Dance alongside Genelia D'Souza and Paathshala, alongside Ayisha Takia. He also had the long pending release Milenge Milenge with his ex girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, which was also a dud at the box office.
But more than his movies, Shahid was spotted a lot for his relationship with Priyanka Chopra, after their on screen chemistry in last year's Kaminey. Shahid's upcoming movies include, his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial venture and their home production Mausam.
